Stage 5 from Maubisse to Dili riding through the clouds on the descent to the coast
Photoshop and I have become close friends this week as I’ve been sifting through the rider shots selecting the best ones for posting. It was great to get ahead of the pack on Stage 4 and 5 (thanks Dave White for letting me take off in the dark with just a head torch – I had the roads to myself!) and grab the front guys ‘giving it large’ on the KOM and DH sections – there was some big money up for grabs in this race (USD$75,000 in prizes with a USD$15,000 first place award) so things got pretty serious!
This shot of Scott Liston was taken on a tricky DH corner section with lots of loose rubble and sharp rocks during stage 5. I took this photo while buried in a gutter on the side of the track with just my camera poking out the top so I didn’t put the riders off.
