We make it to Carpenteria Shire!

After leaving Burke and Wills at 4pm the day before, we camped in a paddock of cows again and watched a breath taking lightning show that night right above Boulia.  The sky lit up and flickered while we ate our pasta.

We missed the rain by only a few days and the next day we learnt that Boulia was once again cut off from the outside world and all dirt tracks in and out were drenched.

We were excited that morning to be packing up our bikes and riding into Carpenteria Shire.  At the same time we were a little sad to be riding our final few days.  We had had such an adventure and the idea of not riding the bikes each day seemed foreign.  We had a good routine now, wake up in the dark, pack, brekkie, ride, stop at 11am, continue at 4pm, stop and watch the sunset, eat, bed.  It would feel weird to stop at Karumba…

Hey Guys you think you will be sad to finish? What are the rest of us to do without living through your adventure on the blog!!! My days won’t be the same and a little more boring when you finish!!
