Flood Warning for the lower Diamantina River

“Issued at 10:24 AM on Wednesday the 11th of March 2009
by the Bureau of Meteorology, Brisbane.

Moderate to major flooding is falling slowly along the lower Diamantina River from the Durrie area to Birdsville.

Moderate to major flood levels have now peaked at Roseberth and Birdsville with river levels expected to continue falling during the next few weeks”

YAY!! Hopefully the Birdsville Track north of Birdsville to Boulia will be open by the time we get there in about 3 weeks. It’s currently 2m under water.
